Quality Assurance Centre

In Armenia, external quality assurance in higher education is carried out through state accreditation. The accreditation process is implemented by the National Centre for Professional Education Quality Assurance (ANQA), a foundation authorised by the government.

The primary goal of state accreditation is to assure educational institutions, students, their families, employers, and society that the quality of professional education offered by the given institution is officially recognized by the state.

In the Republic of Armenia, external quality assurance of professional education is implemented through institutional accreditation and program accreditation. Institutional accreditation is a mandatory and periodically conducted process for all professional higher education institutions operating in the Republic of Armenia. It enables the evaluation of a university’s overall performance and effectiveness, assessing whether the institution fulfills its stated mission, pursues a policy of continuous improvement, and contributes to the development of its educational programs.

In this context, Yerevan Gladzor University (YGU) was first accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia in 2015, in accordance with European standards. Later, in 2019, YGU participated in a new institutional accreditation process and, as a result, was reaccredited on August 23, 2021, for a period of four years.

The Quality Assurance Centre is headed by Rima Aydinyan.
