Emblem

Blue, Red, and Orange: These are the three colors of the national flag of the Republic of Armenia, all represented in the arched emblem of Yerevan Gladzor University. The book, depicted in blue, symbolizes the foundation and source of knowledge. Blue represents the Armenian people's will to live under a peaceful sky. The five steps, illustrated in red, signify the five-year duration of study, reflecting the original model of higher education at the university. Red symbolizes the Armenian Highlands, the enduring struggle of the Armenian people for survival, their Christian faith, and the pursuit of independence and freedom. At the top, the sun, shown in orange, represents enlightenment and the pursuit of knowledge. Orange symbolizes the creative talent and industrious spirit of the Armenian people.

University Anthem

In deep, impenetrable darkness
Of its painful history,
The Armenian creates in learning
A ray of light for salvation.

As a witness to all this,
In our harsh new days,
You were born worthy and honored
Of the glory of old Gladzor.

New Gladzor, magnificent, bright,
A beacon and temple of light,
You are our cherished mother,
Generous and incorruptible.

Live proudly and eternally
As the hearth of education,
May your fame always soar,
Today, tomorrow, forever.

Flag

The flag of Yerevan Gladzor University, created in the orange colour of the Republic of Armenia’s national flag, features five arches symbolizing the path leading toward the altar and light. At the top of the first column of the altar is an ancient national symbol and emblem of Armenian people’s identity – the Armenian eternity sign. As the bearer and continuer of the traditions of the medieval University of Gladzor, the background wall of the altar on the flag displays the sundial and bas-relief from the western wall of the Tanahat Monastery Complex of University of Gladzor, with the foundation year of the medieval university indicated.
