The Department of General Medicine of Gladzor University of Yerevan was established in 2021. The newly established department has already managed to attract the attention of many Armenian and foreign students. Today, about 200 foreign students study at Gladzor University in Yerevan. The success of the faculties of medicine and dentistry is evidenced by the students' love for attending the class, their positive opinion towards the administrative staff and the teaching staff of the university, and most importantly, the high quality of the lectures given. The university has adopted a policy in the format of “show an individual approach to each student”.
From the first day of its foundation, Lilit Sukiasyan, Candidate of Biological Sciences, took over the management of the Chair. From 2024, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor H.G. Vahradyan has been the head of the department.
In order to implement the goals and tasks of the Chair, to ensure the achievement of the final results outlined by the professional educational programs, the teaching staff of the Department is constantly replenished with doctors-professors, candidates of science and associate professors, the best specialists in the field. Currently “General 24 lecturers teach in the department of medical science.
In order to organize pre-graduate educational and research internships, the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry of “Gladzor” University of Yerevan cooperate with leading clinics of the republic: “Erebuni” Medical Center, “Armenia” Medical Center, Dental Clinic of the Republic of Armenia with clinics. Cooperation is close between secondary vocational educational institutions of the republic: “Erebuni” Medical Academy Foundation, Gavar State Medical College, Vardenis Medical College, Ararat State Medical College, with Mehrabyan Medical College.
The Chair of “General Medicine”, in accordance with the pre-established schedule, the joint research strategy and thematic plan of the department, organizes and conducts scientific seminars once a month. Meetings are held with prestigious representatives of the field, leading specialists, pursuing the goal of scientific in parallel with the educational process, to acquaint the students with the changes and achievements in the field. Within the framework of professional courses, the students visit the appropriate clinics, accompanied by a teaching specialist; laboratories.
