About the Faculty

The Faculty of International Relations of “Gladzor” University of Yerevan was established in 1991, from the foundation of the university.
The first Dean of the Faculty was Ph.D., Associate Professor A. Sargsyan.
Some time after the establishment of the Faculty, the Chair of International Relations and History was established, where the activities of the faculty are concentrated to this day. From the date of its establishment until 2007, the chair was headed by Ph.D., Professor H. Hakobyan, and since 2007, Ph.D., Associate Professor L. Hovhannisyan, since 2019 - Ph.D. S. Manukyan, now head of the chair, candidate of political sciences, associate professor Narek Grigoryan. Currently, the chair bears the name of its first head - HAKOB HAKOBYAN.

When organizing its activities, the Chair is guided by the decisions of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, the Scientific Council of the University, the Charter of the Chair, the semi-annual work plans of the Department and other internal regulatory documents.

From 2006-2007, the department has switched to a three-level system of teaching: bachelor's, master's and postgraduate studies.


A credit accumulation and transfer system has been introduced since 2007.
The Department of International Relations named after Hakob Hakobyan carries out a wide range of scientific and educational activities. The professors of the department actively participate in the annual conferences of the faculty and doctoral students of the university. The scientific reports presented at the conference are published by the university professor in the collections of the materials of the annual conferences of the faculty and postgraduate students.

Collaboration

In order to organize pre-graduate educational and research internships, the Department of International Relations named after Hakob Hakobyan of “Gladzor” University in Yerevan cooperates with the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the Constitutional Court, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and various partner universities.

Events

The Department, in accordance with the pre-established schedule, the joint research strategy and thematic plan of the department, organizes and conducts scientific seminars, round table discussions, conferences, role-plays, etc. once a month. The professorial staff of the University organize and hold thematic events in advance of various historical-political events together with students. At the same time, on the initiative of the Chair, the ECH-CIS DEBATE CLUB operates, which provides a real opportunity for both the Chair of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other universities to improve the skills of public speaking among students of the departments.

  • BASIC EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR MASTER'S DEGREE IN THE SPECIALTY “INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS”
  • E.00.01 Postgraduate educational program in the specialty “Armenian History”.


The Department of International Relations named after Hakob Hakobyan has developed educational programs for bachelor's and master's degree in the field of existing specialties at the Chair of International Relations of the EEC. The general professional and specialization programs included in the relevant curricula for existing specialties are either compulsory or optional. the subject programs of the courses have a clearly defined structure, including all the required modern components: the general description of the course, the description of the subject, the purpose and tasks of the course, the course final results, methods of implementation, policy, evaluation system, volume of the course, thematic distribution by semesters, calendar plan, description of subjects and questionnaires.
Subject programs are compiled by the teaching staff of the department (independently or as a result of teamwork), taking into account the advanced experience of local and international scientific educational institutions, which are reviewed at least once a year, taking into account the experience of the previous year and anonymous surveys conducted among students at the end of the course the results:
